Brandon Balagna-Toal

Brandon has a double degree in Finance & Accounting from the University of Colorado at Denver and has worked as both a Sr. Financial Analyst and an Accounting Manager for Fortune 500 companies, thus he has the blend of expertise in both disciplines that this role requires.  He has worked as an Accounting Manager for a Fortune 500 company and therefore has experience in all phases of accounting, from managing the cash forecast and A/R & A/P cycle to financial reporting (both internal and external), as well as preparing project cost estimates for project managers.  Having previously worked as an Associate Research Analyst in the E&P Equity Research Group at Stifel, Nicolaus & Co, where he covered over a dozen small cap E&P names, as well as being a Sr. Analyst at EnCana’s Midstream Group, where he was responsible for evaluating business development opportunities for the Rockies Business Unit, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the upstream E&P and midstream spaces within the energy industry. 

Financial Modeling & Valuation

Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and valuation of oil & gas investments, particularly in minerals, leases, and producing assets utilizing Excel for energy capital markets transactions including acquisitions, mergers, IPOs, PIPEs, and private placements of equity and debt.

Forecasting & Projections

Develop proforma financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) and valuation models (Discounted Cash Flow, multiple-based) for pre-IPO start-ups and established companies seeking capital for acquisitions and development services.

Due Diligence

Led pre-IPO due diligence initiatives for private equity firms, ensuring that all financial statements were substantiated and aligned with industry standards. Identified key performance indicators (KPIs) and established metrics for ongoing performance monitoring.
